I have the TS0011 Tuya switch working with Zigbee2MQTT and it works well.
I am trying to control a smart light but I cannot find any decoupled mode or something similar that keeps the power alive to the bulb but will report the on/off status of the switch so I can automate the bulb toggle.
I want to retain the smart features of the bulb, such as dimming and colour changes which is why i want to use both, as well as turn the bulb on / off via the existing wall switch.
This video describes the problem and the solution.
I havent found a solution and I just removed the smart bulb. It seems the switch doesn’t have this feature. I have a couple more to test by different suppliers but havent tried yet.
I haven’t found any switch that is supported by ZHA and has decoupled mode sadly… My wife is getting frustrated not being able to use the regular wall switches and I don’t want to rely on battery powered switches or replacing all of my current wall switches.
I have removed the wall switches since we prefer the colour/brightness options of smart bulbs.
I had the same Issue and my solution was too use a smart switch + smart bulb. In Homeassistant you can create a helper that changes the smart switch to a smart blub and then you can create a group (also a helper) of the 2 entities and then you can control both devices in one entity. I would also recommend to create a automation so that when you turn on/off the switch with your fingers, the bulb should also automatically turn on/off.
You can put a smart relay that does support detached mode, between your smart switch and smart light. E.g. Shelly Gen4 supports both Zigbee and detached mode. Of course the TS0011 is a bit redundant at that point, though you still get the light indicator.
I too with TS0011 was a bit more useful. Really only suits dumb lights with current limitations. Is there alternative firmware to fix it?
Of those two things, yes, that they work together no
I am only using Matter / Wifi on Gen4 so far. I am really hoping for Thread support, but Shelly seem reluctant If Zigbee doesn’t publish the detached switch state then that’s a big problem. I wonder why? Hopefully something they’ll fix.
Instead of using a bulb, use a 0,33uF/250v capacitor. This will keep the switch powered (so it is detached).
than connect the smart light directly to 220v, and you can link the switch to the light bulb using HA.
This works fine with my TS011’s
