Twinkly Music dongle support?

It’s nice to have HA control over the twinkly lights. I’ve got a 250 string on the Christmas tree, a wreath and several sets of curtains outside.

I also have the Twinkly Music USB dongle. It’s paired to local wifi. It’s basically just a mic that picks up ambient sound and invents a pattern to show on the lights. So you play music via something within earshot of it and it flashs patterns on whatever lights you have set up to use it. The twinkly app for doing this is… clunky, at best, but c’est la vie.

I’m not entirely sold on how it works, but the wife has seen it and… well… you know how that goes.

Does the Twinkly Music USB dongle show up in a way that HA can control it?

I didn’t see the music dongle getting auto-detected in HA. Nor does it seem to get detected by the Alexa system (and, yes, I realize having both able to see the same devices does pose some possible problems, but I use the Alexa app to disable whichever I don’t want controlled by voice).

I’m just looking for a simple on/off.

bump? any pointers on where to start with this?

lol a year later and I’m looking for the same

Another year later and some versions further (v.2.1.0). I tried adding the Music stick (TMD01USB) based on IP to the existing HA Twinkly integration and got an error.

Effect show up in the dropdown menu, but music does not. I don’t mind the feature as an effect, or as a separate device that can be toggled. Currently both seem not possible. Hope I’m missing something and someone was able to succeed

@Nebro-oepiel A bit early to up the Xmas tree, no?

All kidding aside, I’d love to integrate the Twinkly music dongle into HA in a way that would probably go far away from it’s intended use.

I actually have it too for my twinkly lights and it’s pretty much always plugged in…which makes that it could potentially double as a security device.
For example:
if Home = 0 and a sound is recorded > send alert to phone
