UK Alarm recommendations for existing wired sensors & keyapd

I have an existing home alarm (in the UK) with keypad and wired sensors. I’d like to replace it with something that uses the wired sensors and which I can control from HA, BUT it needs to be able to be armed via a some kind if physical keypad (ideally with keyfobs) to make it family-friendly. I think this rules out using konnected since I won’t be able to arm/disarm with keypad and via software.
Any recommendations on what kit I might get, or what it working for you?

@versigo you mentioned something a while ago about HKC alarms and controlling them via ESP32? Any chance of expanding on that?

Unfortunately there isn’t currently a native integration for this on HKC. We are an NSI gold installer of security systems and I am in talks with them about adding it to the wifi/lan modules which is in progress. Ill let you know when i have firmware to test
I current use outputs from the panel and outputs from the esp to the panel for lighting control etc.
Ive used a HKC 8 way output card to give circuit activations to HA.

Thanks @versigo for the quick response! Looks like a cool project. Are there any specific HKC models you could suggest I could look at?

10270 is the hybrid panel id choose. I have an older 1070 updated to latest version which is v4 but the outputs are available from v3.xx

bear in mind my panel hardware is over 10 yrs old now but still takes current firmware. I get all the features but dont get the 270 inputs im limited to 70 which isnt an issue for me

Hi James,

Any chance you could share a wiring diagram on how you connected the ESP to the panel? I was thinking that this should be possible. Have you had a look at this project? HKC Project on Github I have installed but cant get it to work, shows as unavailalbe.

I could do a diagram but I use an output module on the bus this follows various inputs and arm states etc and these then wire to inputs on the esp 32
I didn’t know of that project I will certainly look at it. Looks like it’s polling the hkc app server though not the panel WiFi ether net module.

Hi James, is that a HKC output module? I was thinking that I could connect the ESP to same terminals that the PIR’s etc connect and use the same pulse to trigger the ESP for state change. Not sure if this will work though,

Yes its a hkc output module. I use a mix of addresable, wireless detectors and deol so prefer to use the panel. Also gives the gf the lights on feature on keypad and app.

I’d be interested in photos or diagram of how you connected it all up.
I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to some of this.
