I saw it reported elsewhere for the aurora smart switch - that it is a regulation that if the socket is powered it must indicate so. ie just like the red marking on visible on a dumb switch 
No, I don’t think so as there lots of sockets available without the red on the switch
Using Z2M, they appear as a light entity and can be just turned off, unfortunately both together
I know this is an old post but just wondering does the fcu make a loud clock noise when turning on/off? I’m planning to install in my bedroom so don’t really want a loud noise.
I changerd all my sockets to these ClickSmart sockets. The on off action does not make a loud noise. However one has just decided not to cut power when in the off position. It is about 3 years old.
Sounds like the relay contacts have welded shut or the relay is stuck. A gentle tap on the relay might clear it, but personally I’d be looking to replace the socket.
Out of curiosity, what were you switching on it?
I have the FCU in my hallway controlling my bathroom fan. I can hear it click on/off from my bedroom 20 feet away, but if I’m sleeping, I don’t get disturbed by it.
If you want a device with a relay in it, there is going to always be a clicking noise when it switches on/off. If you are worried about the switching noise of a relay, can you locate it else where, e.g. outside of the bedroom?
It does show up in Z2M as the FCU device (as of a Z2M update a few months ago), previously it was recognized as a 1-gang socket. Supposedly one can control the light level of button and also child lock, but I get errors when trying to change the setting in Z2M and have never really bothered to try and get it sorted. Has anyone managed to get this working on the FCU?
I ordered a new ClickSmart socket to replace my faulty one, but before I got round to swapping them the faulty one started working again

Old comment but I noted you gave the child lock working. I’m using with ZHA and this hasn’t pulled through, it’s just a simple switch.
Do you have the config for the extra functionality? (Dps, etc?)
