Ultion Smart lock (Danalock V3) won't include (Aeotec Z Stick Gen 5, Z-Wave JS to MQTT)

Hi all, I received my Ultion Smart lock today. It comes with a Danalock V3 built in to it, and I have it working with the Danalock app via Bluetooth. This version also has Z-Wave and ZigBee, and I’ve been trying to execute a Secure Inclusion via the Z-Wave JS to MQTT add-on.

I have placed the device within 1 meter of my Z-Stick as per the instructions, but I cannot get the to pair. The Danalock flashes green about 4 times, and about 30 seconds later, the add-on tells me no changes/devices were found.

Has anyone here had any success including the Danalock V3 on a Aeotec Z-Stick Z-Wave network via Z-Wave JS to MQTT?

I would try ZigBee and pair it to my Conbee, but I’m not sure how to get the lock added via Phoscon or Deconz either. Any thoughts on Z-Wave vs ZigBee for locks in particular?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Are you sure it comes with zigbee and zwave? My reading is that the danalock v3 has one or the other? Danalock V3 Smart Lock · Danalock

And the Ultion web site only seems to refer to zigbee or homekit versions.

@nickrout Thanks for replying… As it happens, you’re absolutely correct! The box says both ZigBee and Z-Wave on it, but digging around on the Ultion website, it seems that Z-Wave is an option you can request if you phone them. I managed to add it to my Conbee via Phoscon. I hadn’t read the DeCONZ page properly, which says that you need to add locks as lights. It shows up properly as a lock in Home Assistant, though!

It apparently works in z2m.

The Danalock app doesn’t help by having both icons on there - although that is an improvement, for a long time it had just the Zwave icon, whether you were using the Zigbee or Zwave version

I have a plain Danalock and have found it very unreliable with Phoscon. It was fine on the app so that wasn’t the issue.

Switched over to Zigbee2Mqtt and it has been much better, with everything exposed correctly.
While I love Phoscon, and have most of my Zigbee lights, switches and sensors in it, the lock always seemed like a bit of a hack.

have many fitted the Ultion Smart lock? Thinking of going with Homekit integration with all home users having phones

Having had a new door fitted today and spare keys being 15 quid…it almost makes more sense to order the smart lock for the benefits its includes and it then means fewer keys need ordering, especially for the random times a guest/visitor might need access

So I’m wondering if I could have zigbee or homekit as options…which do people think works as a better system?

Did you go with HomeKit integration in the end? Thoughts?
