I picked up 3 of the Aqara Motion sensors from Amazon during their recent sale. I have been trying to add the motion sensor via ZHA and I am not able to find the device. I have added other Aqara devices (motion sensors, water sensors, door sensors) successfully.
Here’s what I have tried so far to get this running:
- Confirmed that ZHA is up to date (I am running a ConBee II Zigbee coordinator stick on my HA instance which is running on a Raspberry Pi 4
[Home Assistant 2022.9.4; Supervisor 2022.09.1; Operating System 8.4; Frontend 20220907.2 - latest]) - Added another Zigbee device (a new Aqara Door Sensor) to confirm that the Conbee II Zigbee coordinator stick is functioning as expected when adding a device.
- When attempting to add the motion sensors, I have tried:
a. Resetting the motion sensor by holding the reset button on the side of the sensor for 3 seconds then starting the + Add Device button from the Zigbee device list
b. Everything from subpoint a. plus continuing to tap the reset button to keep the Zigbee device awake for the duration of the discovery session
c. Taking the same approach as subpoint a. except clicking + Add Device first, then holding the reset button for 3 seconds (also tried tapping the reset button to keep it awake)
d. Reload and disable/reenable Zigbee Home Automation (ZHA) from the integrations page
e. Tried all devices that came with my order
f. Reviewed the visualization map and the device list to see if they were maybe added without showing as added in the UI
g. Reviewed the logs for anything obvious that’d indicate that the device is being added/seen/acknowledged in some way. This is admittedly a weak spot for me as I’m not sure what I should be looking for other than the sensor would likely be identified as something like “lumi.sensor_xxxxx” (this is an assumption - all of my other Aqara devices have had a similar format in the log such as lumi.sensor_wleak.aq1 for the water leak sensors I have and lumi.sensor_magnet.aq2 for the door sensors)
Only other thing that I can call out that’s maybe of interest - the production date on the box of the sensor is 4/2022 and the label on the box and base of the sensor says (among other things) UK CA, which appeared to be slightly different from some of the images I’ve seen online/in videos. Any other suggestions on what I should attempt to get these sensors added?
