Unable to browse media for Homepod

For some bizarre reason, my Apple Homepod Minis have stopped responding in HA.

When I add a Media card, I can select the Homepod as a media entity, but when I browse the media, it throws me to a directory called App (whose location I have no idea!). Also, the Homepod is always shown as power off.

  • I have deleted the offending Homepod from my Apple Homkite app and re-added it
  • I can tell Siri to stream music to the Homepod, and that works
  • Homepod was upgraded to the latest 18.1 OS
  • If I used the HA-native Media selection, it can find the music folder OK, so I think my configuration.yaml is OK

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Homepods, or can shed light on why I can’t browse media?

Problem solved.

Simply go to the AppleTV integration, delete the device. After a couple of moments it is automatically rediscovered and simply reconfigure it again. (I did get some error message about “flow”, but ignored it.) Repeat for all HomePods.

Mine are now back online, and I can browse the media directories correctly.
