Unable to connect to home assistant after upgrade attempt

Today I attempted to upgrade the software to the latest version and now I am unable to access Lovelace. Getting the error message “unable to connect to home assistant”. Unfortunately I do not have any recent backups but I am able to access my files through samba. Any suggestions on how to access the UI?

Edit: Turns out I added an entity to a group in groups.yaml and had a space after the entity name. Then I tried to upgrade the system and the UI would not start. I followed StePhan’s directions to get back in and then found the added space and removed it.

Try to rename the group.yaml to group.old and do a restart

Also u mite have to remember out the group line inside the configuration.yaml file put a # at the front of it and save and reboot again

Thank You!!!

Back in. Guess the Groups file was hanging it up?
