I see a lot of people with this error on the App, but few solutions.
Unable to connect to Home Assistant
The Home Assistant hostname certificate mismatch, please review the Home Assistant certificate or the connection settings and try again.
This had been working until a few weeks ago. How do I fix this?
you have to fix the actual error message, these error messages are for the user to solve. In your case you need a valid certificate for your host name. Remember certificates are not valid for local URLs and only the domain name it was created for.
its become invalid, if you havent already try rebooting things like HA and the system it runs on (the host) if that still doesn’t work you’ll need to regenerate the certificate and try again.
It has been at least a year since I did this. I use DuckDNS to get to my Home Assistant on my home computer, but I thought that DuckDNS automatically renewed my certificates? What method do you recommend that I use to get a new certificate and do I need to update it at DuckDNS?
that all depends on what you did when you set it up
I personally use certbot from lets encrypt that renews the certificate every 90 days I didnt follow a guide or anything. Sounds like you may need to reference the guide you followed to see if it had any updates to it.
im afraid I won’t be of much help here at this point, if you are still stuck and can’t figure it out then Nabu Casa might be a viable option as you won’t have to worry about the certificate or domain name.
OK, I am fed up with DuckDNS and certificates. Before I pay for a Nabu Caa account I am guessing that I should remove the DuckDNS add-on and the ssl_certificate: and ssl_key: lines from the http: component. Can you think of anything else I need to do to prepare for using Nabu Casa?
