Unable to connect to Home Assistant and restore doesn't help

I can ssh into my home assistant but I can’t get the web interface to load, I jsut get a page that says Unable to connect to Home Assistant.. I am not sure but I think this happened just after I applied the last update. I usually update within hours of getting notified of a new update. The page just fails to load, the log doesn’t seem to indicate any real issues. I have tried rebooting multiple times, cold booting, deleting the groups.yaml file and related config (based a post looking similar), and restoring to a back up from 12/25/2019. All actions so far have resulted in the same issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Restoring a backup does not revert the home assistant version, it just restores your config. You most likely have breaking configuration changes. There have been quite a few recently.

What version were you on?

Do you have samba installed so you can access the files?

I am not 100% sure, 105.3 or 105.2. I do not have the samba addon setup but I can connect via sftp fine.

How can you correct configurations if you don’t have samba? That’s a big risk IMO.

Well seeing as 105.3 is out and you updated, that would mean you were on 105.2. Try downgrading to that. EDIT: Unless you upgraded to a beta. And if that’s the case, just downgrade to 105.3

Yes I can edit files as needed.

Just ran hassio homeassistant info. The version info is a little confusing, would I be looking at last version or version? What’s the difference?

last_version: 0.105.3
machine: raspberrypi3-64
port: 8123
ssl: false
version: 0.103.4
wait_boot: 600
watchdog: true

Edit: I tired downgrading but same result.
