Unable to connect to HomeBridge from iPhone

Hi!

I have setup HomeAssistant in a virtualized machine (10.0.0.29) runningUbuntu and HomeAssistant in docker. HA is available on 10.0.0.29:8123 and is working fine. The host machine is a truenas scale (10.0.0.26).

In HA (10.0.0.29) I am able to find my Apple TV (10.0.0.9) and add it successfully to HA. Creation of HomeKit Bridge is successful and HA generates a QR code. The problem occurs when I try to add this QR code to my Home-app on my phone. After scanning the QR code on my phone it tries to add the bridge but eventually times out.

Any network guru that can help me troubleshoot this? I’ve been googling and trying different network setups in docker (macvlan, bridge, host) without luck. But it seems that the network configuration between HA (10.0.0.29) and Apple TV (10.0.0.9) isn’t the problem, since the Apple TV is added sucessfully between HA and Apple TV.

Any suggestions is much appreciated!

Hi @epder

I think to enable working multicast to need to do one of the following.

Create a bridge and attach your VM to that, instead of directly to a NIC

If you do not want to use a bridge, Try enabling Trust Guest Filters instead

Thanks! Enabling “Trust Guest Filters” did the magic!
