I’m setting up my new home (residing in Singapore) and I loaded up my home with a bunch of Aqara D1 Switches bought from China as I’ve seen and read resources where I can bypass the region-lock through Zigbee2MQTT.
I’ve managed to set up Mosquito Broker and Zigbee2MQTT, and I’ve checked my ZigBee dongle (also from CN) to ensure that they’re all working well.
All the switches in my home are unable to connect to my Zigbee2MQTT EXCEPT for one—a three-gang switch. This helped me confirm that my dongle isn’t the problem and it seems like it could be the switches.
Are there anything that I’m missing out on regarding these switches that I do not know about? Anyone have similar experience/tackled with this before?
P.S. All my switches are non-neutral switches except for two, which can’t be detected either.
What region lock?
If it is the frequency that you call region lock, then it is made so, because the other frequencies are already occupied by other usages.
If you still use it, then you might disturb the devices that are assigned to the frequency and they might deæistirb your devices.
Yeah, from what I know CN and Global are separate. Many would say that I wouldn’t be able to use CN products for a global hub for example. I’m not very sure of it either, but eitherway I don’t have an Aqara hub and don’t really intend to use it’s ecosystem.
Are the troublesome ones too far away from the coordinator? If so, you can try pairing them to the closest router device to their final location.
There’s a small arrow next to Permit Join in Z2M. Click that and you’ll see all the router devices through which you can pair.
