Unable to get Zigbee to work properly

Hello,

I’m having issues setting up my Aqara TVOC Air Quality Monitor using the following configuration:
Installation: Home Assistant Operating System (migrated from Supervised because I was having issues)
Zigbee device: ‎ZBdongle-P (also have a Conbee II but that doesn’t work at all)
Location: 2 meters from RaspBerry Pi 4 which is inside fuse box cabinet together with other RF devices such as 2 Hue Bridges, router and other small appliances.
USB setup: plugged into a USB 3.0 port with a 1.5 meter USB 3.0 extension cable.

I tried to connect the device using ZHA, Deconz and Zigbee2MQTT and had various results but none satisfying. Currently I have connected the Aqara device through ZHA and I was able to get an initial temperature reading (no humidity or PM particle readings) and after a few minutes the connection would drop again.

I know the Sonoff dongle and Aqara device work because I was able to get proper readings when running Deconz on Ubuntu.

I’m at a point where I don’t know which direction I should look into so if anyone has any ideas I would be grateful!

Cheers

Try a 2.0 port. The dongle is outside the fuse box? Do you have routers paired or just the Aqara device?

That does not appear to fix the issue. I plugged it into a USB 2.0 port without the extension cable and tried to connect it using ZHA but no devices show up. I switched the device to pairing mode 3 times.

You need to use the cable.

You’re right, I had this setup before but it didn’t work. This time I moved the cable as far as possible from the other RF devices and was able to connect. Now all entities are available.

So FYI the Sonoff dongle is connected to a USB 3.0 extension cable which is plugged into a USB 2.0 port.
