Unable to integrate Tesla Powerwall 2 into HA

I have HA running on a QNAP container.
I have two PowerWall 2’s connected to a Tesla Backup Gateway 2.
Home Assistant detects the PowerWall setup.
When I try to integrate it I get: “Authentication failed with error: Access denied for resource https://xx.xx.xx.xx/api/login/Basic: bad credentials: Login Error”.
My router recognizes the Gateway and reports the correct IP and MAC address. I have tried the whole password AND the last 5 characters. I can log into the gateway from a browser page - after I connect to its TEG wifi network. My Tesla app reports accurately. I CANNOT login to the gateway from the address reported by HA or my home router. A Netstat-NAT test seems to show outbound traffic going to two Amazon addresses. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same thing going on. Help please.

Same here, though Powerwall 3 with Backup Gateway 2. All registered with Tesla, and App works fine. Neither the full password nor the last 5 digits printed on the sticker within the Gateway let me log in.

Both give exactly the same error as OP

Update to this - there is a thread on GitHub that implies that you can no longer use the default password (or 5 digits of it) printed on the sticker and that you have to connect to it’s local wifi TEG-xxx log in there and set a new password.

It is worth reading the whole thread here: Latest powerwall firmware requires a non-default password to be set · Issue #129440 · home-assistant/core · GitHub
