Unable to remove items from Android sidebar

Greetings
I recently changed the URL to my self hosted Home Assistant. Same paltform and everything. When I pointed my HA Android App to the new URL I could login and access everything as before but I’m unable to remove unwanted items from the sidebar. On a PC browser I can do it for the same account but not on my phone.

Any ideas before I post a ticket go github?

/Fredrik

I think it’s a known frontend issue, not something the app can fix

I’m facing the same issue - can it be confirmed that it is a ‘frontend issue’ and any idea, if / when it will be solved or if a workaround exist?

Regards Frank

Good thing I’m not alone at least

I was able to edit the sidebar items by using a bluetooth/usb mouse and clicking the X! Maybe there’s an issue with a press handler that doesn’t affect the click handler?

Same issue here, never had a problem until 2025.5. Really annoying that the sidebar is now full of stuff I don’t want visible… Any idea on when a fix is coming, and why is this suddenly an issue?

should be fixed in 2025.6

Excited to hear that, and glad it’s not just something on my end.

For a super clunky workaround, I found that if I kept tapping on the X (I zoomed in too if that matters) I was able to remove the items at around 3 clicks, though occasionally I’d also add another item on accident. Eventually I got things cleaned up.

I’ve activated pinch to zoom and I’m tapping like a madman. No success :unamused:

EDIT: Updated to 2025.6.1 and it’s working. The new system is much easier to use. Was hoping to hold off updating due to the new “per user” sidebar settings, where I really preferred “per device,” but since I could not remove ANY sidebar items the UI was clunky/cluttered, it had to be done.

Check out browser-mod if you want to do it by device.
