Underlying system for hassio (unraid,proxmox,xenserver,..)

My intel nuc (i3 7th gen) server is running a while on hassio (resinos) but i getting limited in the capabilities.

running the following services:

  • home assistant, Portainer, Grafana, Node-Red, zigbee2mqtt, influxdb, unifi and unms, mariadb, mosquitto, sonweb, esphomeyaml and xeoma.

now the problem is that i cant assign a hard drive in docker for what i can understand of it.
and that is what i need to have so my xeoma (dvr) can store the video’s on the hdd instead of the ssd.

my intel nuc is performing like a charm to handle all these services with an cpu usage of 20% all time. but i need to know what the best option is for the underlying system so my xeoma can have his dedicated hdd.

requirements:

  • does not use mush resources of the ram and cpu
  • must be able to assign dedicated hard drive to xeoma server
  • easy to manage preferably web interface
  • does not take minutes to start up the system
  • share cores between vm’s

You mount the drive, then map the mount point into the container you want it to connect to. You most certainly can map a disk
