Understanding the Energy Configuration (totals and current values)

Hi everyone,
I succeeded in adding my SMA Inverter/Energy Manager as well as my OpenWB wallbox into Home Assistant.

Now when setting up the energy configuration in Home Assistant, I struggle with understanding. My devices provide current consumption/supply (in W) and total consumption/supply (in kWh) as well as current solar energy (in W). All I can add is the totals for the grid import and export as well as the current solar energy. But the totals are from over a year and Home Assistant obviously cannot tell from what time period the data is generated. So how do I properly set up the config so that it matches the data that I see in my SMA sunny portal (from now on of course, not from the past)?

Appreciating any help!

Home assistant does not care what the totals are now. It watches for increases every hour.

But it does not take it as 0 for the beginning, does it? So what is the best practice for this case?

Ok, it does. It uses the delta beginning from the start of the setup.
