[Unifi Add-On] Keep losing management of my accesspoint

Hi,

I keep losing the connection between the controller and the access point, after a few days/weeks the controller reports a “Adopting” status and this never gets resolved. The only option I have to fix this again is to SSH to the access point and give it a factory reset. After a reboot SSH again and do a force adopt to the inform URL. After this the access point is available and gets provisioned.

If I use a separate controller installed on a Windows/Ubuntu machine the access point won’t disappear.

Any thoughts?

Read the instructions?

* The AP seems stuck in "adopting" state: Please read the installation instructions carefully. You need to change some controller settings in order for this add-on to work properly. Using the Ubiquiti Discovery Tool, or SSH'ing into the AP and setting the INFORM after adopting will resolve this.

Hmm, I think that I missed that. Thanks for pointing this out. I’ve also changed the inform url to a IP number instead of a hostname. Did this since I have a SSL hostname and the default hostname is also still working.

After the set-inform http://10.1.0.x:8080/inform the access point became available in the controller. I also recalled the warning that I imedeatly got again:

In order for STUN to work properly, the client devices need to be able to resolve to and communicate over UDP port 3478 with the UniFi Network Controller. UDP Port 3478 must be open inbound on the controller machine.

This issue seems to be fixed after setting the inform url to a ip address and do a force provision

So everything seems ok for now, thanks again!

Can you tell me how you set the inform url?
