Unifi Protect no longer working

Hello all,

I was using Unifi EA Protect Application 2.8.35 where it was working perfectly under HA. Updated to EA 2.9.16 and it broke the HA integration. After reading some posts here, it was obvious at it was the newest EA update that broke the integration.

Came across a post for downgrading, which I completed successfully. I confirmed Protect does work, and it is currently working properly on 2.8.35. However, I can not get the integration to come back online in HA.

SSH into my UDMPro and successfully downgraded using these commands:

apt-get update

apt-get install --reinstall --allow-downgrades unifi-protect=2.8.35 -y

Here’s what I’ve tried.

  • Reloading integration inside HA.
  • Disable/re-enabled integration.
  • Rebooted HA.
  • Deleted/re-installed integration.
  • Restored HA from a previously known good working install.
  • Upgraded core to 2023.9.1 (wouldn’t work on previous release, even after restoring).

Looking for any advice.

Thanks!

boy oh boy… nothing like learning the hard way… I did the exact same thing… doh!

luckily, that --reinstall method and a HA reboot solved my problems…

Rolling back to 2.8.35 from 2.9.x Early Access also worked for me with seemingly no side-effects.

I have plenty of full backups to try and reload. I guess I start with that.

Can anyone see anything in the logs that is concerning?

Is the integration compatible with Beta or RC versions or just stable release ?
Can we find out what version the current integration is compatible with ?
Thanks

Why is the integration working?
s it supported or not?
What are the limitations?

I have Unifi Protect 2.9.16, and if I restart HA until it works it stay up and running no issues.

So what’s the deal? Just a flag on the version?

That does not say anything about another than stable, it only mentions early access. The swearing is not called for.
