"Unknown Error Occurred" When Configuring Nextcloud Integration in Home Assistant

Hi everyone,

I’m facing an issue while configuring the Nextcloud integration in Home Assistant. Whenever I attempt to configure it, I receive an error message simply stating, “Unknown error occurred.”

Here’s the related log message:

2024-02-04 10:06:49.810 WARNING (SyncWorker_8) [py.warnings] /srv/homeassistant/lib/python3.11/site-packages/urllib3/connectionpool.py:1061: InsecureRequestWarning: Unverified HTTPS request is being made to host '192.168.0.105'. Adding certificate verification is strongly advised. See: https://urllib3.readthedocs.io/en/1.26.x/advanced-usage.html#ssl-warnings

I’ve followed the tutorials to set up Home Assistant Core (Install Home Assistant Core on the Raspberry Pi | by Chelaru Adrian | Dec, 2023 | Medium) and Nextcloud, including the certificate (How to Setup a Raspberry Pi Nextcloud Server - Pi My Life Up), as part of my Raspberry Pi setup.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue or could offer insights into what might be causing this error? Any guidance on troubleshooting or resolving it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance!

According to the tutorial, you have a Nextcloud certificate with a “real” domain name from letsencrypt, right?

Then you should use that one in HA, rather than the IP address. Part of SSL verification is that the domain of the url you use (e.g. nextcloud.mine.com in https://nextcloud.mine.com) is the one for which the certificate was created.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a solution I found for my issue. I managed to resolve it by deactivating Two-Factor Authentication and generating a specific password in Nextcloud for this particular app.

Thank you for the suggestions!
