Unobvious cons (or pros) of manual setup for Google

I have HA running and want to setup local fulfillment for my Google Home speakers. I am reading Google Assistant - Home Assistant and gather I have two options:

  • Home Assistant Cloud = paid
  • Manual setup = I have to expose my HA instance to the internet

I’m wondering if there are any other unobvious pros/cons I should know before I make a decision.

It depends on how concerned you are about exposing HA to the Internet vs having to pay for the cloud.
