I am pretty sure this has started happening after April updates. I launch the Home Assistant app on Android phone. It shows one or more updates. I click on the any available update and nothing happens. I have tried deleting the app cache and restarting the phone but it does not resolve the issue. As a result, I cannot update anything via the phone app.
Same thing is happening when I open HA in a browser (tried with several browsers, across multiple PCs). I see updates and when I click on any available update, nothing happens. I have to refresh the page and then clicking on the available update will actually do the update.
Installation method Home Assistant OS
Core 2026.4.1
Supervisor 2026.03.3
Operating System 17.2
Frontend 20260325.6
Prior to April updates, I would just click on the available update and it would start update, either in phone app or in browser.
I have this problem which I posted here. The issue is that when I click on an available update either in phone app or web interface, nothing happens. Normally the update window should launch, but in my case, nothing is happening. It was working fine in February/early March but has stopped working now.
After posting the issue, I realized to test in safe mode. When I restart HA in safe mode, the issue is resolved. When I click on available update either in phone app or web interface, the update window launches.
Question is: How do I find out what is causing the issue?
Things I have tried:
a) I disabled all the HACS integrations including HACS itself. Restarted HA. Did not fix the issue.
b) I renamed the integration folders in /homeassistant/custom_components, restarted HA and it did not fix the issue.
What else can I do to find out the source of problem?
With Claude’s help, I was able to pinpoint and fix the issue in like 10 minutes. It was because of an outdated card-mod add-on which I must have installed manually (not through HACS). Claude helped me remove the manually installed add-on and I installed the proper one from HACS. This has fixed the problem. Posting here just in case someone has identical issue.
