Update to 0.81.3 Broke Everything

I recently updated to 0.81.3 and now I can’t get the HA front end to load at all. Trying to connect to it using the local IP address just returns an error in the browser that the connection is unavailable. If I plug my Pi into a monitor, I do see the HA logo when I turn it on, but it just stays there and the screen never goes to black (which I think is what is supposed to happen?).

I tried removing my sd card and putting that into my computer, but Windows wants to format it before it will let me view the files. So I’m not sure if there’s any way for me to view the HA logs or update HA to 0.81.4 if I have no front end and can’t read the sd card? I do have a snapshot of my HA before I made the update but I’m not sure how to restore to it without the front end either?

Has anyone successfully resolved something like this or will I just need to start over?

Why would you upgrade before reading the release notes?

Read just above 81.4

And to answer your question, it may be best to just re-install hassio and restore your snapshot.

I installed before it was discovered that it broke LL. I guess this would be another lesson in waiting to update to see how everything goes…but there’s always someone who has to be the guinea pig.

If I understand correctly you need to know the following:

  1. As @silvrr said, re-install hassio and the Samba add-on
  2. Connect to your Pi and look for the backup folder which you will find in the same folder that the config folder is in.
  3. Copy your old snapshot to the backup folder.
  4. Restore the snapshot.
