Update to 2026.4 | system load increased

A few hours ago I updated my system to 2026.4. My system-load has increased from 4% to 25% (average values). Average core temp went from 35C to 55C. I run HA on a HP T630 Thin Client.
Do I have to do some action after the update to 2026.4?

See how it looks tomorrow.

I am experiencing the same think except I rolled it back when it hit 80% memory usage.

have the same problem + rebooting the core after it took all memory and locks … reverted to previous version - works as before

It would be interesting to know if users have upgraded and not experiencing this level of problems.

I upgraded 6 hours ago and don’t see any increase in memory usage or system load,

Same issue for me. I hope it gets identified and fixed. My raspberry pi 4 was constantly rebooting every 5-10 minutes. I had to rollback to 1 day ago version, no problem on 2026.3

All looking absolutely normal here, running in a Docker container on my Synology NAS. ~3% CPU, steady 600MB RAM. I’ll keep an eye on it and update if anything odd happens.

Two hours in, all still good:

my system load is higher than expected too, not sure if this is per 2026.4 though, If I check the history is seems to have increased some time before.

If anything there has been a recent change in integrations being loaded, see
Unconditionally set up base platform integrations by emontnemery · Pull Request #164863 · home-assistant/core · GitHub Unconditionally set up base platform integrations

as a test, I change from default_config to load only those I really need/use, and line those up specifically.

It has 0 effect in the system load…

I didnt check the startup time which is mentioned in the PR, could be that takes longer now all of these integrations are setup

If someone that has the problem ran top before rolling back, that might reveal a process that’s causing it.

Or look at processor usage per App to see if any are higher than normal.

I am willing to run experiments to help resolve this for the community.

On my RPI5 the Memory goes to 100% and the system will be cooked till it reboots. Same for 2026.4.0 and 2026.4.1.
Only thing helps is rollback to 2026.3.x

I got home yesterday and updated to 2026.4.1 on a HA Green. There was a ~20% spike right at re-boot, and after a minute it returned to the usual 1% - 2% sine wave utilization.
Memory close to what it was also. No problems.

I’m in the same situation with both core versions 2026.4.0 and 2026.4.1.
Reverting back to 2026.3.4 everything is working.

Same problem—I doubled the RAM (16 GB), but it’s still at 95% load. With 8 GB, it would reboot every minute or wouldn’t even boot up at all. I’ve reverted to 2024.3. HAOS on Proxmox on a Lenovo mini PC.
