Updates start but do not install

For several months now, I have been unable to update Home Assistant.

When a new update is available, I click “install.” The button loads for several minutes (at first, something would download, and HA would restart). Now, the button just loads endlessly, nothing happens, and it returns to the initial state, prompting the user to click install again.

I don’t think there’s any useful information in the logs, no any error messages? But maybe I’m not looking at the right things?

I go from this:

To this:

I’ve already seen someone mention the problem online, but they solved it without really solving it (I think by reinstalling the system).

If someone would help me, that would be awesome

Have a nice day,
Seb

Please look in Settings → System → Logs, then in the top right hand corner look in all of:

Home Assistant Core
Supervisor
Host

There were a couple of database migration in the previous releases, and you might be running into timeouts due to that.

My suggestion is to use the command line to upgrade one major release version (whatever is the latest minor version for that month’s release) at a time. Backup, download backup locally, update to the next release version, rinse and repeat.
