Updating HA from Very Old Version

OK I’ve read a few threads about this but I can’t get my old HA instance updated. I used HA a few years ago but haven’t used it for a long time. I originally installed on a RPi 3 and on starting it up again I’ve got updates to HA showing but none will work. I’ve attached screenshot of system info.

How do I start an update to get everything uptodate?

I’ve taken a snapshot of the complete system and saved this.

If I have to install from scratch I will but would prefer to just update and keep the config.

If you want to update, you have to update 1 by 1, and read the (ALL) release notes, LOTS have change even the DB, and lots have been moved from config-yaml to integrations

Best (timely)advice is start on New, copy all your yalms, settings/configs, maybe you can use/copy/edit your Dashboards, Views

You’ll save alot time, and avoid alot problems

Thanks for the reply.

I’ve tried updating 1 by 1 but each fails. Tried updating supervisor and got this:

Trying the OS update produced this:

If I can’t update, what’s the best way to wipe everything and start from scratch? I’m assuming the best way would be to format RPi SD Card and start again with fresh install?

1 by 1 means in this context core-2021.5.0 > core-2021.6.0 etc, and make sure you update supervisor and OS the same way (in timely matter), meaning when they got released

Sure you could try to “jump” a few, But you will sit with problems(piling up) and headache for days and weeks, same time as you have to get use to new UI etc.

No ditch the SD card, buy an SSD

Ahh apologies, makes sense as I’m so far behind.

SSD sounds a better option. Many thanks.
