"Upgrade" from 32 bits to 64 bits on RPi 4 GB

Yesterday blog post (https://www.home-assistant.io/blog/2020/12/13/home-assistant-os-release-5/) assumes that 64 bits versions are production ready.

Given that information, what’s the best way to upgrade from 32 bits version to 64 bits version?

I’m right now on a Raspberry Pi 4 – 4GB, with the 32 bits version.

Appart from starting from scratch and restore a snapshot, is there a better way to keep files not in the snapshot?

I just did mine today 32 Bit on a SD to 64 on an SSD and it was very fast. I upgraded the bios on the pi via the boot utility. I then installed the 64 bit version via etcher. Rebooted the pi with the ssd attached (no SD). Created a new log in. Downloaded my backup and restored. There are some very good directions in the forums. My only issue had to due with the mariadb where I had to uninstall it and reinstall (lost the history).
