Upgrade from RPI3 to NUC

Recently migrated from RPI3 to NUC. RPI3 was running the AIO; NUC is running Ubuntu 17.10 (16.04 LTS didn’t like Kaby Lake) with a docker container for HA.

Migration was really smooth; no real issues. Moved my Aeotec ZWave stick and files and it all came across ok.

Also HO-LEE-SHIT is it faster. Night and day in response time. I always felt that HA would be pokey as waiting on Zwave communications but I can tell you more CPU has certainly helped everything. Much snappier in ways I’d not expect.

Thinking of making the same move myself. What are the specs on the NUC?

It’s the mid-range NUC7 series with the i5; 16GB ram (8GM kit was out of stock on Amazon); and a 250GB Samsung 960 SSD.

It would have been very happy on the i3 model but that was not a big savings; while the step to i7 was quite pricey (almost 2x)

Just placed my order for the i3 model. Might have some questions for ya in the next few days
