Hit upgrade, checked the “backup before upgrade” as usual.
But the UI hasn’t come back.
Tried restoring the backup from before the update though the cli and whilst I get enough UI to log in, it doesn’t get past the Loading Data page…
Trying to figure out where to look next, but I only have vnc access to the vm (no ssh for some reason).
ha core logs suggest that the hass objects can’t be found.
Well that’s weird… I just got a notification from one of my automations.
Ah - it was a bad recorder option in config.yaml…
But’s what’s ridiculous is that it’s been restarted a couple of times since I looked at extending the retention period…
I would assume the error catching logic was changed to make that a fatal error in the latest upgrade?
My assumption as well, doesn’t stop it being really irritating.
Also discovered that the auto backups are only partial - so I’ll change my process going forward.
