UPS shuts down –is it overheating?

Hi all – I bought a PowerWalker UPS a couple of months ago, with first impression being great! However, it started to switch off automatically (even when there is power through the mains) and I wonder whether it is overheating. How can I test this? What would you suggest? Many thanks!

It should have somewhete it output errors to a log, like a display, an interface or an app.

What is the rated load of the UPS that you have and have you made sure you are not at its limit with all your devices plugged in?

When everything is on, it usually operates at 7-9% load.

It has a USB port, however the software is for PC only… I am a Mac user…

Is the UPS a new one bought at the time or a used one?

Could be disturbances in grid, if your model has adjustable sensitivity, set it lower…

Check the batteries for replacement. That is one thing that shuts down UPSs.

I second the notion to check the battery.

I had two different older models of APC UPSs and whenever the battery failed either the self test or was just dead from age, they would ungracefully just shutoff and wail their alarm and wouldn’t turn back on. I have since upgraded to some of the line interactive ones that have a built in transfer switch with hot swappable batteries.
