I was wondering if this question ever popped up. Have not found anything on the forum. One such question appeared on the mysensors forum:

Was wondering if having an option to use description of a sensor as its name could be considered as a new feature? What are the pros/cons of having such an option. I would like to get some of your thoughts on that as I was thinking to add this functionality and send a patch.
EDIT: to give some background.
In my case, the reason behind this is that I’ve got a bunch of relay switches with push buttons grouped as sensors and my sketch does a pretty good job of naming them properly. The setup would be instant when using those description names instead of manually renaming them, creating yet another layer of name conversion.
