Use Harmony Hub without remote?

Hi,

I have a Harmony Hub with the remote, which I use together with my Samsung TV and Mi Box Android TV and receiver. These are all turned on by the remote.

I had an idea, I really want to use the Mi Box remote, which has a mic for controlling Google Assistant, and it is small and works well.
So my idea was to start the TV with the Mi Box remote (via CEC). Home Assistant then knows Samsung TV is switched on, which will then start the receiver via the Harmony Hub. And when it is shut down, it will shut down the receiver too.

Is this possible to do? How would I setup an automation like this?

If it’s a smart TV, you just need to set an automation that uses a trigger of when ha senses the state of the media player your TV will be seen as changes from off to on and vice versa when done. Easy peasy.

Equally, get an Echo Dot cheap during Black Friday which works really well with Harmony, and then everything can happen with a simple, ”Alexa, turn on the tv”
