Use homekit camera (ffmpeg via homebridge) in notification, possible?

Hi, thanks rob for a great app! The notifications is really a killer feature.
I’m pretty concerend about not opening om my homeassistant server to the internet, hence I use VPN to access it. I’ve added my dlink dcs-935L to homekit using homebridge and this works great if I’m accessing it outside of my home due to the nature of homekit/home app.

Since the video stream in the notification needs to be direct accessed, I can’t make the stream to show if I’m outside my LAN. I wonder if this could be solved by using the stream that homekit produces? In that way I still can have a video stream on my notifications outside of my lan but I haven’t opened up a port for my HA Server.

Let me know if I made myself unclear.

I don’t have any plans to implement HomeKit into Home Assistant for iOS. I would suggest either opening up your instance to the world with a password or putting Nginx in front of it and only allowing certain routes. Maybe in the future I will be able to upload a short video clip to a third party server and use that in the attachment, but as of today your instance must be externally accessible for this to work.
