Use Rasp PI after HA install

This seems like a basic question but just can’t find an answer. Is it possible to get to the desktop of my raspberry pi once HA is installed?
I need to be able to install drivers for a lcd screen and do other things but once I wrote the SD with HA I’m stuck.
Thanks for any help!

If you installed HAOS there’s no ‘desktop’

What is your intended use case and what install method did you choose?

Ah OK thank you for such a quick response. I used the pi imager and chose HA so that makes sense.
My goal is to run HA to bring together my many devices and have multiple dashboards accessible on tablets etc, BUT still be able to access the pi.
I suppose this is mainly because I’ve had real struggles getting SSH working…

HAOS is designed as an appliance. You don’t have alternate access to the device except for HA.

Supervised provides access to all the features of the underlying os and HAOS but requires you the end user to maintain the OS. (I cannot stress this enough…
unless you know exactly what you are doing and how to manage Debian on your hardware… Do NOT go that way there be monsters…)

You can also look at various hypervisor solutions or container.

Each option brings it’s own tradeoffs for maintenance, use of the device and capability. You need to thoroughly understand each before choosing your adventure.

As to your hardware if it helps your decision Personally I use haos on a pi4b 8gb with a 1TB m.2SSD.

the Pi is running well enough to handle a large, complicated install with three protocols about 200 various actuators and a couple hundred sensors with a smattering of addons. While it handles itself okay. I wouldn’t want to try to stress tbe install with ‘extra stuff’

Lol, I understand…thank you for the detailed response and explanation!
