Use smart dimmer to dim Hue bulbs?

I bought a house and all the recess lighting has Philips Hue bulbs (LCT002). They are on standard dumb switches right now, and I’d like to put some onto smart dimmers (Zooz Z-wave).

I don’t want to use any of the Hue bulbs smart features like color control. I just want to be able to dim them based on the dimmer’s input.

Does anyone know if these bulbs will dim based on the dimmer if the bulbs aren’t connected to anything like a Hue bridge? Or do I need to connect to the smart bulbs via Hue bridge/Zigbee controller to HA and use automation?

I’m trying to stay way from connecting both the dimmer and bulb to HA to get them to dim. I’d rather just replace them with non-smart dimmer bulbs if so. But that’s an expense I’d like to avoid if possible.

You’re wanting to dim them by actually controlling the AC power going to them? Pretty sure that won’t work.

Non-smart dimmable can lights are pretty cheap and the Hues are rather pricey; I’m sure you could sell one or two of the Hues to pay for replacing the rest. Or a cheap battery-powered remote would also work. I also want to say the Hue remotes can pair with the bulbs without a hub?

I’ll also mention that I previously had dumb dimmable can lights but replaced them with Hues precisely because I never found a dimmer switch that didn’t induce a slight flicker. I know lots of folks don’t have this problem (including my electrician friend who installs them all the time), but no amount of troubleshooting or replacing lights/switches solved it for me.
