Use voice assistant to start 3rd party music service

I really like the idea of having my own voice assistant, but the kids mostly use it for playing music and audiobooks which are coming from Apple Music or some other service. Are there any plans to integrate 3rd party music services.

Have you tried integrating Music Assistant. It supports most major music streaming services. Should be able to activate it with HA voice assistant. I haven’t attempted it though.

I already added the music assistant and connected it to apple music but I cant start any music though voice command.

Hi

You can use MA Blueprint : music-assistant/voice-support: Music Assistant blueprints

That looks really promising. I configured everything according to the readme unfortunately I cant get it to play anything on my Alexa or Sonos device. I configured a default device but the log always says.

WARNING (MainThread) [homeassistant.helpers.service] Referenced entities media_player.spielkeller_alexa are missing or not currently available

The device is working fine otherwise, so it is not an issue of the Alexa Media Player. It seems like the script also ignores other speaker commands. When I say play something on “Spielkeller Sonos” it still trys to use the default device.

Do I miss something in the configuration?

So it seems like you have the device to the music assistant first. That seems to work for the Sonos device but I have not found a way to add Alexa devices.
