I would love to be able to add my own notes to devices and entities and have that appear in the UI list of devices and entities. At the moment I use the device name to summarize information I might want to search for or filter for in the list, such as if it is X10, Insteon, Z-Wave, etc, but I think it would be nice to have a “user defined column” of sorts where this information could be added and then the ability to include/exclude columns from the device/entity view to show this type of information.
As an example, I have some old X10 outdoor devices that I use during Christmas, but since they are part of my Insteon PLM they show up as Insteon integration. So to differentiate things I call them something like “Outdoor Decorations On/Off Switch X10.H.16” so I can easily see that it’s X10, it’s address H16 and that it’s a Christmas decoration and it helps me find and/or sort the list but is kind of messy.
Not a huge deal, just a “quality of life” improvement.
