Using bluetooth tracker with external dongle in Home Assistant OS 64 Bit on Pi 4

Hi Guys

I’d like to use an external USB adapter with my Pi4, as the internal radio is too weak to track reliably.

I’m at a loss as to identify the HCI ID from the lsusb and set that in configuration, or disable internal BT.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there really no way to use a Bluetooth dongle with HASS.IO!?

Bit of a late response, and not complete. But if it helps anyone… It’s been quite a while since I did this… You need to create a config.txt with content like this: # Disable Bluetooth for RPI4 dtoverlay=disable-bt This will disable the onboard BT. If memory servers me right, the dongle will automatically become default. The config.txt is in the host os side, so you need to gain access before editing it:
