This worked, thanks @kotrfa! I switched Component config > ESP System Settings > Channel for console output from USB Serial/JTAG serial to Default: UART0. That other option mentioned doesn’t exist.

Rebuilt, reflashed and now it works standalone. Obviously, I no longer get logs if I connect to a computer, but if I ever need that - I can flash back to the previous image.

thanks! 2 hours trying to solve why HA does not see thread border router, uselees ai nonsense. and then here the answer was straight up - i just had to change wifi to main vlan and it just works!
