Using HA Assist locally in a browser /App

I would like to use the HA Assist in my local network using the app or browser (iOS / MacOS) but obviously there is need to have a https-connection which is quite complex to achieve.

What is the easiest way to get it working? The docs should really be updated how to do this

There are plans for the HA Companion app to support http microphone connections as the guidelines for apps are less strict than for web browsers.

So the easiest way is to wait.

ok, thanks for that update, the app supporting it would be sufficient.

With the newest version of the companion app it is already possible. Version 2023.7.x and higher is ready to use http for the connection. :+1:

The iOS-Appstore only shows version 2023.4 as the newest version.

I installed the 2023.7 through TestFlight but still get the same warning regarding https.

@dshokouhi Please excuse me tagging you, I hope it is ok for the very few times I do.

But you are the Guru of the companion app and I hope you could give some insights on this. I searched the docs, but couldn’t find anything regarding iOS and https.

Thanks for stepping in!

sorry I do not work on iOS so I have no idea how it works

Thank you very much for stepping by, appreciated! :+1: Yeah, that’s the same with me, I have no idea about apple devices and/or iOS in any form… Just an Android guy from the beginning

@StefanHabel I’m very sorry, maybe someone with more knowledge for the Apple universe can step in.
