Don’t get me wrong I have no problems criticizing HA when things go down a dumb path but complaining when HA doesn’t curate a complete list of available MDI icons in a drop down menu isn’t that. And if the list is just a wall of text how will that be helpful? you will also need a picture of every icon as well.

That won’t get unwieldy at all…

HA Icons text box → material design icons website search bar → Pop up of available icons, first ten in search, (more) sends you to their website → select → correct code formatted and inserted

You are then reliant on that 3rd party site not to change things otherwie that breaks., plus adds additional complexity to the already large codebase
