Using mi band 2/3 as beacon/tracker

I read this is a good option. And since my brand new mi band 3 is always on my wrist and has good battery life …

But I really need a good how to. Now I don’t get it with the information that’s available in the forums and on Google.

Anybody care to help me out here? I’ve the standard mqtt add-on installed that comes with hass.io. I can find the address of the mi band 3 using a ble scanner on my phone.
