Using Sonoff 4ch pro r2 with existing wall push buttons

Hello everybody,
I’m really new to the domotic world, I’ve been lurking around for a while but before messing with my family habits I’d like to be sure of what I’m doing.

All I’ve got by now is the Sonoff in the title with factory firmware.
I would try to upload the Tasmota firmware and start using this Sonoff.

The lights I wanna connect are currently controlled by a step relay from 5 different wall buttons.
I need to keep these buttons as I want to be able to turn on the light also over wifi issues and I don’t want (me or my guests) to necessarily use a smart device.

So… is it possible to solder the wires from the wall buttons to the physical buttons on the Sonoff board to simulate a pressure?

Hello
Yes it’s technically possible. It’s a little tricky and you must have a good soldering iron and skills on how to use it.

Please mind : your wall buttons must be wired only to the sonoff.
And usually the wall button are toggle, whilst sonoff ones are push. You may need to replace your wall buttons with push ones.

In the meantime, I did this.
I soldered two wires for each button and, using normal relays in place of the previous step relays, I was able to keep the original 220V wall push buttons to send the command to the Sonoff buttons decoupling them from the house voltage.
