The data for my utilitymeters is coming from the inverter and a power sensor (clamps)
Those values are ok.
Now i created a daily, weekly, monthly and yearly utility meter for those sensors.
I wonder what happens if HA is offline for a couple of hours.
Will the data be updated or do you lose that data from the time HA was offline ?
The inverter is probably doing its own counting and reporting a meter reading to you. So it won’t matter how long HA is offline in that when you go back online you’ll get an up to date total, but it might matter if you care when within the offline time the energy was used.
Can’t answer for the clamp without knowing more detail about what’s in between the physical clamp and HA. In particular where the intelligence is that converts the instantaneous current reading to an amount of energy used over time.
(1) My guess would be that all the energy would be recorded when HA came back online. So if you turned it off for three days and then back on again, HA would see nothing being used for two days and then lots being used the third day, with, then, the total used being correct.
(2) That sensor looks like it has, built in, the sums to construct kWh from the raw current measurements. So whilst it’ll depend on how it’s connected to HA my guess would be that it behaves in the same way as (1).
I really don’t know. Time will tell.
This is how i set it up for the moment.
Don’t look at the values from te daily, weeky…entities.
I did that today so it can’t be correct.
There is something i don’t understand.
The data that is coming from the utility meters is excactly the same as the data that comes from my inverter and powersensor.
I have this sensor to see the total power usage. (PV Yield - PV Export) + Power Import should give me the total power usage but the value is not correct. In the beginning of the day it’s not that much but the more the day progresses the more it becomes.
