I am using a utility meter to record daily totals for sensor that is recorded as a weekly value which resets on a Sunday. This information is sent to home assistant via MQQT.
When setting up the utility meter the sensor jumps to the first value received and sums from there. They are not deltas in the source sensor, they are cumulative weekly totals in the mqqt feed.
