Variable Icon in View

I have a view just for my Garage Cover, can I have the Icon View show the state for the door just like in the entity?

can you share some of your code?
Also can you confirm you’re talking about lovelace views?

I don’t have any code for this, that’s my question.
In a lovelace view, the icon that shows at the top, can this be based on an entity?
So when my entity cover it open the icon shows open and when it is closed, it shows as closed.

if you display an entity on your lovelace page, its icon will show the state of the entity . If it’s a binary_sensor, you’ll have a different icon for open/closed indeed.
just to make sure we’re talking about the same thing, can you send me a screenshot of “the icon that shows at the top”

If I understand you correctly, you want the View’s icon to be changeable and it should reflect the current state of a cover entity.

I don’t believe this is currently possible. You would need an icon_template option where you would specify which icon should be displayed.

Here’s another thread asking for the same thing:

This one.
The one on the right works fine, I just want the one at the top to do the same.

@123
Yes this what I was looking for. Thanks for the info, too bad it’s not supported yet.

Thanks again.
