Velux KLF 200 integration

Hello,

im about to purchase the above hardware but im a bit confused. It has wifi but it seems this only creates a own network and can not be part of the existing network? I want to use this integration Velux - Home Assistant but how does it work without access to the “normal” network?

Hi,

It creates it’s own Acces Point, but it also has an Ethernet connection which I use in my installation.
If you can, use ethernet, it’s more stable.

Thx for your reply. Which firmware version do you use? I heard that the ethernet port dont work with newer versions? It seems to be only a serviceport but no ethernet port for LAN

I use firmware 2.0.0.71, which is the latest version. This version has been released in 2018, so Velux doesn’t provide any more updates for it. That version works for me with ethernet.

At least until version 2024.1.6, from version 2024.2 it stopped working for me…
I restored the 2024.1.6 version and now all is fine.

Does it still work for you with the 2024.2?

FYI, Velux integration is working fine for me using 2024.2.

Thank you for info.
2024.2 or 2024.2.1?
Even after a reboot?

Either one should work. In case you didn’t know, this is a classic problem that the KLF200 only allows a couple of TCP/IP connections, and it easily runs out and that is why HA can’t connect to it. The best solution is to power down, then power up the KLF200, then restart HA. It doesn’t always work, sometimes it may take several attempts before it works again.

I know the problem, but up to version 2024.1.6 everything works perfectly with the velux.reboot_gateway automation. After the update and several poweroff/on and reboots I was no longer able to get it to work.
After the downgrade to version 2024.1.6 everything works perfectly.
I’ll do some more tests…

Is the problem solved witb 2023.2.3? Thank you!

Not yet…
but, if you use the HACS version of the integration, works like a charm!

same problem here since 2024.2 :frowning:

Tried so many restarts and reboots of all kind already, still always the ssl error :frowning:

Have zero experience with HACS … seems like that is not an easy to go solution?

edit: But in the github linked disussion, there seems some hope for a new PR if I read that correctly?

hacs is not difficult to install…

once installed add the repository: GitHub - pawlizio/my_velux: Custom component of velux integration for Home Assistant
done.
