I’m integrating with my Vera Plus system. Very nice integration so far. However I was wondering if there’s an easy way to have the garage door opener show as a cover in HA. I was wondering if there’s a template that could be applied or a special configuration such as available for lights?? Anything?
What exactly do you mean? Lights, switches, etc in Vera show up as the appropriate entity in HA. I am not sure about covers though.
Vera does expose it’s entities via restful api at http://vera-ip:3480/data_request. You could use a Restful Sensor to expose anything that doesn’t show up automatically.
I was meaning using the hass templating system to show how the devices/icons are displayed. I think I figure it out as I can use the device entity just like any other. I see the garage door opener shows as a switch and I was wondering if I could change that to something… more like a cover and for some fans that are showing as a switch, I want them to be shown as a fan.
