Vidéo Doorbell

Hello,
I currently have a motorized and automated gate using a meross box.
It works fine in home assistant.

I would like to add a video doorbell connected to it, in order to be able to see in home assistant who is ringing at my door.

Ideally, I’m looking for a battery-powered doorbell.

I would like to be able to speak with the person ringing, while viewing them in home assistant. This in order to do without proprietary applications and to have everything centralized in the same place.

Does this seem possible to you?

Do you have an idea of a video doorbell that would match?

Thanks

Duhua DHI-D810
This will likely require SIP for 2way audio

The Duhua VTH paired with Duhua VTO is great but battery power is not option

Thank you for your answer.

I found the “DAHUA DB10” is that one?

What do you mean by SIP?
If i only want 1 way audio (doorbell >>> me) by home assistant is ok ?

Thanks

Yes

2 way audio. Basically IP phone call. Needs SIP server like asterisk or Duhua has VTH indoor monitor that has server built in

If only 1 way SIP not needed but you say “I want to speak with person”. Speaking to person require 2 way and SIP.

If 1 way you can add to HA like camera and hear audio from camera/doorbell microphone in app/browser. Video/Audio is usually delayed in HA but 3-20 seconds so be prepared.

Some doorbell allow custom tone and it possible to record voice instead of chime sounds. In this case you may prerecord messages and maybe trigger message from HA.

  • who is it?
  • How may I help you?
  • I am busy but please call me at xxxxxxxx.
Using these messages you may prompt person to respond or act through triggered messages but this only available for few doorbells.

I use object detection from camera and skip doorbell. In this case I get notified on my phone for car or person. This work well and provide few false alert. I also see the mail and other person that do not ring bell. I plan to add doorbell but this work well for me since I get few strangers to home and only need to open for welcome friend/family when they arrive.

Ok thanks for the advice, I’m thinking of going with that.

I’ll put in a standard wireless doorbell.

And a camera with detection which will send me a photo during the detection.

Thank you for the time you gave me.
