Thank you very much for the information. I was about throwing this god damn module against the wall (after trying ~15 times to configure the WIFI connection).
Same here.
Could be Log4j at Viessman cloud.
Youâd better not create a hardware problem on top of the infrastructure issue.
Best place to get updates is probably here:
https://www.viessmann-community.com/t5/Konnektivitaet/bd-p/customers-connectivity
(German language, you may want to use Google Translate.)
Or keep watching your ViCare app.
It seems the climate control doesnât work when I change the temperature value to a decimal number (21.5, 22.5, 23.5), but it does work with the integer numbers (21, 22, 23)
Today 18/12 vicare app show âbackend maintenance in progressâ
their service is ridiculous. they do these maintanances almost every month and this time the back-end is already down for almost 3 days ⊠this is just unacceptable
All works ok for me. I donât think they do maintenance for 3 days, look at the forum linked above to see how other people have resolved connectivity problem. For me it works without any disruption in last days
At the viessmann forum, there are several posts about connectivity problems to the backend for the last three days.
The longest post about the problems where a viessmann employee also confirmed the problems:
The ViCare app is also showing a message about the maintenance.
Viessmann also sent an email to customers about the problems this afternoon.
It seems, that the service is working only for some people.
We got our API access back this morning at around 5:45 UTC.
According to the moderator responses in the forum it was the authentication/authorization service that was down. As long as you were not renewing an existing login you were not affected. And yes, the problem lasted for several days. Which for me is a strong indicator that this was neither planned nor maintenance.
fwiw, still no connection for me.
This is ridiculous.
Thanks! Wow, indeed a big one. This just shows how cloud services can affect home automationâŠ
Yes! AFAIK it is very important to design all HA automations in a way that degrades gracefully when cloud services fail or the internet connection dies altogether.
Meanwhile I have also implemented clearly visible notices on our Lovelace frontends in the house. They show any failing services in red. This saves hours of searching for internal issues when the real failure is external.
The Vicare Android app is showing service interruption/maintenance warning, restarting HA isnât gonna do much good.
On top of this, Viessmann sent an email at 04:00 this morning explaining that they are aware of the issue.
We would like to inform you that currently, there may be some service outages of your ViCare App. We are working very hard to get the service back up and running.
Iâm betting this will not be entirely fixed untill monday, 'round noon.
Meanwhile, theyâre sending out polls asking how much Iâd like to pay for the API on a monthly basisâŠsmh.
@Jpsy thanks for the hint.
For me it helped to restart my Vitodens System. After the restart, it could connect to the backend again.
The ViCare app is working now too.
I ve left the app opened for obout 2 minutes and the (server error) disappeared and evrything came to work normal
Restarting the comms module isnât possible in my 222w, i did - just now- stop & restart the wifi function. The thing is back online nowâŠ
Normality has resumed.
Why do Viessmann not have a backdoor access to control the boiler settings when their network is down ?
This is a major issue as you cannot edit boiler temperatureâs, on or off timings and if your boiler was set to off before the network went down you will have no heating.
I suggest Viessmann get their software team to look at a solution as I will not recommend anyone to buy a Viessmann boiler.
Youâre preaching to the converted.
The answer is probably they want to charge people for the api use and they already get a goldmine of data from the online-only api.
